WORLD WAR ONE: A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE

HOSTED BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF ENGLISH, HISTORY, POLITICAL SCIENCE, SOCIOLOGY, MODERN LANGUAGES, AND PHILOSOPHY

FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY APRIL 1 2-1 3, 1996

Appropriate topics include the crisis in the Balkans; women and minorities in wartime; literature and the arts; popular culture; propaganda; military technology, tactics, and strategy; major battles (Verdun, Gallipoli, Jutland, etc.); the war in Africa and the Middle East; biography (Wilson, Haig, Ludendorff, etc.); the Russian Revolution; the League ofNations; and the origins of fascism.

Interested scholars should submit a 150-word proposal and a c.v. to:
